Scholarships
Since 1975, the Foundation has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships and fellowships for higher education to both Zetas and Non-Zetas. The Foundation has processed hundreds of other scholarships, as a part of its Chapter Designated Scholarship Program, established in 1980. Under the program, local scholarships and fellowships are awarded by chapters throughout the country.
The Foundation’s Scholarship Program is funded by support of its principal donor. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., through chapter tax and life member fees, by contributions and gift from members and chapters, by the Board of Manager’s contributions and fundraising, memorial scholarships, as well as fundraising at the Regional and State level. Endowments has been established for the foundation at the National level, Chapter level, and by the Board of Managers.

GENERAL GRADUATE Available to graduate women working on a professional degree, masters, doctoral or enrolled in post-doctoral study. Awarded for full-time study for one academic year (Fall-Spring). Not to exceed $2,500 per year-paid directly to recipient. GENERAL UNDERGRADUATE Available to college Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors and graduating high school seniors planning to enter college in the Fall. Awarded for full-time study for one academic year (Fall-Spring). Amount varies from $500 to $1,000, paid directly to college or university and to be applied to tuition or appropriate fees. Proof of enrollment/university acceptance must be received. DEBORAH PARTRIDGE WOLFE INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP Available to graduate or undergraduate United States students studying abroad and/or graduate or undergraduate foreign students studying within. Awarded for full-time study for one academic year (Fall-Spring). Amount varies from $500 to $1,000 paid directly to recipient. Documented proof of academic study and plan of program must be sent to the Scholarship Chairperson with signature of school administrator or Program Director. S. EVELYN LEWIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP IN MEDICAL HEALTH SCIENCES Available to graduate or undergraduate young women enrolled in a program leading to a degree in medicine or health sciences. Awarded for full-time study for one academic year (Fall-Spring). Amount varies from $500 to $1,000 paid directly to the college or university. Proof of enrollment required. LULLELIA W. HARRISON SCHOLARSHIP IN COUNSELING Available to graduate or undergraduate level students enrolled in a degree program in counseling. Awarded for full-time study for one academic year (Fall-Spring). Amount varies from $500 to $1,000. Proof of enrollment required. ISABEL M. HERSON SCHOLARSHIP IN EDUCATION Available to graduate or undergraduate level students enrolled in a degree program in either elementary or secondary education. Award for full-time study for one academic year (Fall-Spring). Amount varies from $500 to $1,000. Proof of enrollment required. ZORA NEALE HURSTON SCHOLARSHIP Available to graduate students pursuing a degree in anthropology or related fields. Award for full-time study for one academic year (Fall-Spring). Amount varies from $500 to $1,000. Proof of enrollment required.

NANCY B. WOOLRIDGE MCGEE GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP Available to members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. who are pursuing a graduate or professional degree in an accredited college or university program. Applicant must have demonstrated scholarly distinction or unusual ability in her chosen field. Awarded for full-time study for the academic year (Fall-Spring) and may be renewed. Amount varies from $500 to $1,000 payable to college or university. Proof of enrollment required.
MILDRED CATER BRADHAM SOCIAL WORK FELLOWSHIP Available to members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. who are pursuing a graduate or professional degree in social work in an accredited college or university program. Awarded for full-time study for the academic year (Fall-Spring) and may be renewed. Amount varies from $500 to $1,000 payable to the college or university of recipient’s choice. Documentation of academic study must be sent directly from the university to the Scholarship Chairperson.

Washington, DC 20009TO BE CONSIDERED, ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY: Three letters of recommendation to include: 1) College Professor or High School Teacher 2) Minister or Community Leader 3) Other *For Zetas only: The third reference must be from the graduate Zeta Chapter signed by the Basileus or Advisor. An official University/High School Transcript An essay of 150 words or more. Include information about yourself, community service activities, your educational goals and professional aspirations. How can this award help you to achieve these goals? Why should you receive this award? All numerical averages must be converted to an official G.P.A. by the school, college or university. Graduate students applying for graduate scholarship must include official transcripts that denote graduation from an accredited college or university. Graduate students enrolled in a graduate program must provide an official college or university transcript showing completed courses and G.P.A. for one or more semesters. Applicants from international high schools, colleges or universities must present official transcripts in English and must have numerical averages or numerical grades converted to an official G.P.A. by the school, college or university. Applicants that are self-employed must provide a copy of their W-2 form to substantiate income of the applicant. All applicants must include documentation of community service activities. Application materials should be stapled together I the following order: completed application, transcript, letters of recommendation and essay. On the front of the envelope, in the bottom left corner, indicate the name of the scholarship for which you are applying. A separate application and duplicate documents must be submitted when applying for multiple awards. Applications are accepted between September 1 and February 1, preceding the academic year. Applications must be received no later than February 1. Award recipients, only, will be notified, no later than August 15, of the Foundation's actions. Requests for copies of the scholarship application form are accepted only during the period September 1 – December 15. Such requests should be clearly marked on the bottom left corner of the envelope with “NEP-AR”.
