Understanding the NEF Structure:  And How it Relates to Zeta

This pertinent workshop provided information for 36 Sorors who attended this Foundation Boule Workshop in Dallas, Texas on Sunday, July 25, 2010 from 10:00am-12 noon. We were in conversation about the Internal Structure of the Foundation and its relationship to the Zeta Sisterhood. Foundation Officers made presentations particular to their responsibilities via power point.  A CD was given to each participant for knowledge, use and distribution of information to others.  Attendees have been contacted andsome are working with the Foundation in various ways. The workshop proved to be successful.  CD’s were given to the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority National Executive Board.

Healthy Choices for a Brighter Future (For youth participants)

Foundation Workshops

Chaired by Sorors Issie Jenkins, Esq. and Juanita Robinson, the

National Educational Foundation sponsored a free community pre-teens and teens youth workshop with 37 youth and 23 adults in attendance on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 9:00am-12 noon, at the Sheraton Washington North Hotel in Beltsville, Maryland.

 

The purpose of the workshop was to positively impact youth participants’ understanding of: 

  1. The importance of maintaining a healthy body
  2. The significance of education
  3. The use and misuse of technology
  4. How to identify and utilize leadership development opportunities

Workshop topics were: 

  1. Develop a Healthy Body
  2. Education and the Future
  3. At risk behavior and Choices
  4. Leadership Skills and Choices

Workshop outcomes were most positive with calls for replication of the workshop in other communities in the area. The workshop will be replicated throughout the country via the Regional Liaison Councils.

Foundation Scholarship Benefit Breakfast

Saturday, November 20, 2010 was a very exciting day for those who attended the wonderful Scholarship Benefit Breakfast and Music Extravaganza, sponsored by the National Educational Foundation, with music giants performing in their particular areas of the performing arts. Soror Carolyn Glover provided the most invigorating musical event. We were graced with the presence of International Grand Basileus Soror Sheryl P. Underwood.  Very Special thanks and appreciation were given to co-chairs Issie L. Jenkins, Esq. and Soror Juanita Robinson for their vision, planning and implementation of this fine fund-raising event.
